Every meaningful beginning asks us to let go of something.
Not because what came before lacked value, but because new chapters require room to unfold. After taking time to acknowledge the foundation that once stood here, the work shifted from discovery to preparation. The past had been seen, respected, and documented. Now it was time to make space for Hudson House.
THE STORY
For a brief moment, the original foundation connected two generations of this corner. It reminded us that Hudson House would not be the first family to build a life here.
But construction is a series of moments where progress depends on difficult decisions. The remaining foundation could not become part of the new home. It had served its purpose decades ago, and now it would quietly give way to the next chapter.
As crews carefully removed the last traces of the old structure, the property began to change once again. What had been a site of discovery became a blank canvas. The lot looked emptier than before, but in many ways it had never been fuller with possibility.
Sometimes progress begins not with adding something new, but with creating the space where it can finally take shape.
